Massage Gisele often can come to Volare usually with an hour notice, but she prefers a day before so she can reschedule other clients.
An hour massage $50
To either Waterfall with one of our guys to go with you (usually Mau, who speaks English). It's a great place to go -- no crowds, only local people if any at all. The water is clean and an absolutely spectacular place to spend half a day. Grab some fresh fruit and go. You must have your own 4x4 car to access the waterfall area. Entry to the Guayabo waterfall is $7/person. We recommend tipping the guy who takes you a minimum of about $30, but it's up to you.
The alternate waterfall is completely free, less steep for hiking, but is frequently closed by a chain stopping the car getting close. But -- for those of us with bad ankles, it's a real favorite. Ask me to find out status of road closure for you.
Meet You at the Airport - Mauricio (Mau) or another of our trusted drivers meets your flight. You'll recognize him - he's carrying an orange garden rake, so easy to spot when you walk outside the terminal. He will go with you to the rental car agency and sign on as an extra driver, then he drives you through the mayhem of San José.
Mau can also drop you at the airport and return your car at the end of your stay in Volare - saving time when catching your flight. He's really handy as a driver to go for a day on the Caribbean coast - lets you relax and return after dark and a good dinner.
POSSIBLE OPTION - We rent the car for you, and Mau picks up the car prior to your arrival. You avoid moving by bus to the rental agency and waiting to check out a car (this usually saves at least an hour after leaving the terminal). If you will also be driving the car you will need to stop at the agency to sign an Additional Driver form. Mau usually gets a few bottles of water and some bananas so you have this in your car when you arrive. Renting the car via Volare requires prepayment to Volare via PAYPAL. The rate is as quoted by the rental agency, and the rental car MUST HAVE the FULL INSURANCE as part of the contract. The advantage is, if there is ANY damage to the car, Volare deals with it after you leave Costa Rica, so it's not something you will need to prepay the rental agency and wait for a "refund" if overpaid, or be delayed returning the car and then missing your flight. (Sadly, it happens..)
Any day that Mau drives your rental car $75

Activities and Tours The Turrialba area is outstanding for adventure - the spectacular Class IV Pacuare river is best enjoyed from Turrialba (one of the top five white water rivers of the world, per National Geographic). This area is world class mountain biking, canyoning, nature tours, waterfalls, swimming holes, and Costa Rica's only pre-Columbian ruins.
